Guest Blog: 3 Reasons Your Lancing Business Needs Google Reviews

It’s no secret that more people than ever are shopping online, in fact, during the pandemic, online shopping surged by 129% across the UK and Europe. This means that the competition for businesses to win customers over has increased. Here at Seaside Creative, we help businesses beat their competitors.

Our team of content marketing experts work with clients able to boost their business’ awareness, drive sales and convert consumers into customers.

A huge driver in customer conversions is online reviews; whether they come from Google, Amazon, Facebook or somewhere else, their power over consumers’ buying decisions is huge. That’s not to say that that’s the only reason your Lancing business needs Google reviews, there are lots of other benefits to online reviews. Here are our top three:

  • Help Boost their Search Ranking
The upshot is, if Google believes that the business is highly thought of, it will want to show it to more people. For example; if a searcher is looking for a butcher in Lancing, Google will favour the butcher with the most and highest-rated reviews over a butcher who doesn’t have any reviews at all.
  • Google is top dog
As we’re sure you all know, Google is the most used search engine in the world. In fact, more than 90% of internet searches happen through Google and YouTube (a subsidiary of Google). That means that most internet users are going to find you through Google. Making sure that Google thinks highly of your business can only mean good things.
  • Great backlink for your website
Having links from reputable websites on your website can greatly improve SEO. Ultimately,  Google loves itself and so if your website has a link to Google Reviews, Google will rank it higher. That’s not to say you need a fancy widget on your website, simply hyperlinking a quote from a review on Google is good enough.

How To Get More Google Reviews

Now you have a better understanding of how Google reviews can benefit your business, here are three ways you can start getting more of them.

  1. Just ask!
If your customers are happy with the product or service you have provided, the chances are that they are more than happy to give you a good Google review. All you have to do is ask!
  2. Add the review link to your email signature
If you communicate to your customers primarily through email, make it easy for them to write you a review by adding a link to your email signature. It’s easy to do and could really increase the number of reviews you receive. One of the easiest ways to get the review link is through the Google My Business app, under the ‘customers’ tab.
  3. Use your other channels
Don’t just limit yourself to face-to-face interaction and email, why not create a social media post asking people to leave you a Google review? Or maybe pop the question at the bottom of a flyer you’re handing out at an expo. As we said earlier, you’ll be surprised by how many people are willing to give a good review after they’ve received a great product/ service.
