About
An opportunity for Carers to meet within a safe and confidential environment, to access support, gain information and peer engagement
About this event
Currently all the meeting at held at Shoreham on a monthly basis. This event has details of the Lancing group.
This friendly group is open to all carers to talk about their caring role, to meet and chat with other carers. To also access information and support from our local Carer Wellbeing Worker, Age UK Community Liaison Team and Adur Going Local Social Prescribing Team.
This face-to-face group will give you the chance and space to discuss your caring role and allow you time to talk in confidence.
With the agreement of the group, some sessions may have speakers.
Refreshments and biscuits will be provided.
We will be alternating our Adur Carer Group between Lancing and Shoreham monthly.
Paid parking and nearby road parking is available at The Shoreham Centre.
The group is run in partnership with Going Local Social Prescribers, who have requested names and postcodes of any carers attending. Carers Support West Sussex will share this information after each group, if you attend. Going Local will only use this information to check if carers attending the group are also registered with them. Going Local will not contact you, and your details will not be used for any marketing purposes or shared with any other organisations.
The Adur team at Carers Support West Sussex are passionate about supporting carers. We have personal experience of supporting carers and therefore understand the challenges that caring can bring. We have supported many carers of people with all conditions and have local knowledge of support services available to you, as well as our range of services and countywide support. We look forward to seeing you at our friendly carer group.
The Age UK Community Liaison Team give help, support, information and signposting to help reduce social isolation. We work in partnership with local groups, professionals and services to connect and support people.
Going Local is a Social Prescribing service. Social Prescribing gives a safe place to talk at length about any worries that might be affecting health and wellbeing. We support people to make positive changes in their life and within their communities by linking them to volunteers, activities, voluntary and community groups, and public services that can help. People might be worried about housing and finance, keen to find out about local courses or discover a new interest. We can use our vast community knowledge to help people focus on what matters most.
